Nooi, a French pasta concept with 50 branches across France and Belgium, is making its first foray onto the U.S. scene. Newmark Knight Frank‘s Marc Frankel, who represented Nooi along with colleagues Jeffrey D. Roseman and Ben Birnbaum, called the development a game-changer. “Nooi is a totally unique concept that’s totally new to the U.S.,” he said.
Specializing in pasta and a panoply of custom sauces, the restaurant will take 1,700 square feet on Lexington Avenue in a 13-year lease, and is currently scouring the market for further high-traffic lunchtime spots. The asking rent at the spot was nearly $85 a square foot, according to Crain’s.
