Mintz Levin Re-ups for 85K Feet in Speyers’ 666 Third

On the residential front, the world may seem like it’s collapsing for Tishman Speyer (read: Stuyvesant Town), but in its more traditional role as an office landlord, things could be worse.
To wit, attorneys at Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky and Popeo PC have signed on for another 14 years of 85,000 square feet at Tishman Speyer’s Chrysler Center at 666 Third Avenue. Mark Weiss, vice chairman of Newmark Knight Frank, represented the law firm in negotiations.
In January, which seems like eons ago, Mintz Levin real estate partner Stephen Friedberg told The Observer that the firm was looking for 80,000 to 120,000 square feet of office space to replace their existing 80,000 square feet at 666 Third, where their lease for non-contiguous floors expires in August 2010.
His colleague Bob Bodian later elaborated in an email, “We are exploring our alternatives, including staying in this building.”
It seems they’ve opted for the latter.
Tishman Speyer did not respond to a request for comment by deadline.
