Longtime commercial real estate pros Peter Sabesan and Richard Selig have been named managing principals of Cresa’s New York office, according to a press release from the firm.

The pair come from Hunter Realty Organization, a boutique commercial real estate brokerage. In 1997, the two partners co-founded Hunter Realty, which then purchased the New York City franchise of Coldwell Banker Commercial, Coldwell Banker Commercial Alliance, in 2010. They headed both companies.

Cresa boasts that it’s the largest firm in America that specializes exclusively in tenant representation, with 50 offices in North America. Sabesan and Selig started there last week.

“As the leading tenant advisory firm in the country, Cresa is an excellent fit for Richard and me,” Sabesan said in prepared remarks. “Our careers have been focused on this sector for more than 30 years and we bring an in-depth understanding of the New York landscape.”

Sabesan and Selig’s recent clients include PulsePoint, The Adecco Group North America, Generali USA, Dash Financial Technologies, Lands’ End and LIM College. Last June, they helped insurance and pension fund administrator Lovell Safety Management take 25,400 square feet at 110 William Street.

“Peter and Richard have extensive experience, not only as tenant advisers, but as owners, mentors and leaders of their own firms,” said James Pirot, another managing principal at Cresa. “We started together at Helmsley Spear and, later, at Hunter Realty, so I truly understand how their knowledge, sophistication and industry background gives us an even greater competitive edge.”
