TED Talks, those 18-minute star-studded lectures on everything from how the mind works to saving the world, may have gotten started in Monterey, Calif., but lately the private, nonprofit foundation TED takes the show just about everywhere, from Tanzania to Oxford. The foundation’s Manhattan base, meanwhile, is adding its name to the ever-expanding media hub of Hudson Square, closing a deal for 9,061 square feet on the 10th floor of the 15-story 250 Hudson Street.

With an expected relocation this month from 55 Vandam Street, TED will set up shop on the 10th floor of the building, which recently underwent a major $25 million capital improvement program. David Barreto and Kim Skarvelis of Cast Iron Real Estate represented TED in the 10-year deal. Dennis Brady and Jonathan Dean repped landlord Jack Resnick & Sons in-house.
