Fifth Wall describes itself as “the largest investment firm focused on technology for the built environment.” It claims roughly 115 strategic limited partners, including CBRE, Hilton, Hines, Marriott, Related Companies and Starwood, and approximately $3 billion in commitments and capital under management.

Its formidable impact on the proptech environment grew over the past 12 months to include a $135 million investment in Atoms, the robotics startup from Uber founder Travis Kalanick, which is Fifth Wall’s largest investment to date.

“Atoms represents an inversion of the trend that has historically driven industrial real estate further outside of cities and toward bigger and bigger formats,” said Wallace. “Atoms is industrialization pushed back into an urban core.”

Fifth Wall also invested $15 million in the AI visualization technology Higgsfield AI. Even though Higgsfield is currently being used primarily in advertising and entertainment, Wallace believes it has strong applications for real estate.

“Real estate development is about fictions. A blueprint is a fiction, and we turn that fiction into reality. Higgsfield dramatically reduces the cost of envisioning those potential futures,” said Wallace. Brokers and agents were already using Higgsfield to render homes and office suites, he said.

Wallace also announced a company launched by Fifth Wall called Antares Labs, which he described as a “Palantir for real estate.”

“Institutional real estate has been slow and late to use generative, agentic AI in its workflows,” said Wallace. “We looked at the market and said, ‘Why don’t we stand up something that can go inside large real estate organizations, build the AI infrastructure they need, and then leave it with them? Not a software solution they subscribe to, but to actually build it for them.’”

Fifth Wall is also building two real estate-related companies Wallace looks forward to saying more about in the near future.

“They’re evergreen opportunities,” said Wallace. “They’re opportunities whose time has come.”
