What happens in Vegas is supposed to stay in Vegas, but we’re making an exception because the International Council of Shopping Centers annual RECon event at the Las Vegas Convention Center and Westgate Las Vegas Hotel & Casino is back.

Commercial Observer editors Lauren Elkies Schram and Guelda Voien are hitting the venues, hotels and parties to bring updates from this global networking monster.

Known as the world’s largest retail convention, ICSC kicked off yesterday and will continue until May 24. It is expected to draw approximately 37,000 attendees and 1,200 exhibitors from 58 countries, according to the organization’s website.

There’ll also be dozens of sessions and three keynote speeches. Networking is obviously a key factor at this year’s event, and there’s no doubt many retail deals will germinate at this year’s ICSC.

Here’s a look at the first day of the conference, featuring scenes from an RKF networking event and a Winick Realty Group pool party, of course! C’mon it’s Vegas, baby.
