Industrious, a major flexible workplace company, announced Thursday that it has partnered with Google to launch a network of Google Beam meeting rooms exclusively for its members and guests.
Google’s HP Dimension with Google Beam bills itself as an artificial intelligence-first video communication platform that renders meeting participants in their true size, positioned as if they were sitting around the same table. Spatial audio anchors each voice directly to the speaker, so people look, sound and feel more like they’re in the same room without headsets or complex setup, according to the announcement.
The rooms will be available in New York City, Chicago, Atlanta and Palo Alto, Calif., starting in October. Industrious locations with Google Beam will include those at Tower 49 in New York City, Ponce City Market in Atlanta, the Ogilvie Transportation Center in Chicago and East Palo Alto.
“What makes Beam special is how natural the conversation feels,” Carlos Becil, chief product officer at Industrious, said in an email to Commercial Observer. “The person across from you appears at their true size, their voice comes from where they’re sitting, and you can read the facial expressions and subtle cues that help people connect naturally.
“We’re excited about this partnership because it means we can offer our members a face-to-face experience across cities thousands of miles apart,” Becil added. “That is something quite new, and we’re excited to see how our members use it. The rooms with Google Beam are complimentary for Industrious members and bookable for nonmembers. The pricing will be similar to our other bookable conferencing-enabled spaces.”
Any Industrious guest can book an HP Dimension with Google Beam session on demand, while Industrious members receive priority scheduling alongside their everyday workspaces and collaboration tools.
Google research claims that the technology produces a 50 percent stronger sense of social connection and a 21 percent increase in people’s reported ability to contribute to conversations. The true-to-life presence and authentic connection across cities can boost attentiveness, deepen nonverbal engagement and reduce meeting fatigue, according to Google. The rooms also function as premium conference hubs for group meetings via Google Meet and Zoom.
Industrious flexible offerings include dedicated offices, turnkey private suites and on-demand access to coworking and meeting spaces. Founded in 2012, Industrious was fully acquired by CBRE in 2025. Industrious operates more than 250 locations across more than 80 cities globally.
