Coworking giant Industrious is adding another location in Southern California, this time at one of the more recognizable office properties in Glendale.
The flexible office provider has signed for 12,000 square feet across two floors at Caruso’s historic Masonic Temple at 234 South Brand Boulevard, Commercial Observer can first report. The location is expected to open in late June 2027 as Industrious’ second in Glendale and 19th across Greater Los Angeles. It’s also Industrious’ first deal with Caruso.
The new workspace will include 101 private office seats and 17 common-area seats.
“Glendale has proven itself as a strong market for us, and we’re excited to build on that success with this new location,” Natalie Levine, director of real estate at Industrious, said in a statement.
The nine-story Art Deco Masonic Temple was built in 1929, and Rick Caruso’s eponymous real estate company restored it as Class A office and retail space adjacent to the owner’s Americana at Brand shopping center. CBRE, which acquired Industrious last year, uses the property as its North L.A. headquarters.
“Adding a premier flexible workplace within the historic Masonic Temple further strengthens the Americana at Brand’s live-work-play ecosystem, creating a seamless experience across one highly connected and walkable destination,” said Jackie Levy, chief revenue officer at Caruso.
Industrious has been growing around Greater L.A. Earlier this year, the company opened an 18,400-square-foot location at Douglas Emmett’s Studio Plaza in Burbank, and signed a 22,000-square-foot deal at Sherman Oaks Galleria. The company also expanded aggressively across the Westside in recent years, including a 16,000-square-foot Beverly Hills location, roughly 44,000 square feet combined in Westwood and Santa Monica, and 19,000 square feet at Watt Plaza in Century City.
Industrious operates more than 250 locations across more than 80 cities globally.
