As Bob Wordes plans his retirement from TSCG, also known as The Shopping Center Group, the firm is elevating two of its longtime executives.

Susan Ahlheit will take over Wordes’s role as chief operating officer in a promotion from executive managing director of operations, while David Huntley will serve as chief financial officer after already holding the title for different divisions of the firm, according to TSCG.

Wordes has been at TSCG for the last 20 years, while Ahlheit has been there since 1995 and Huntley started in 2001.

“I’ve had the chance to grow with TSCG for more than three decades and to learn from Bob for 20 of those years,” Ahlheit said in a statement. “The operating foundation we’ve built is strong, and my focus is making sure everyone at TSCG has what they need to serve our clients.”

Ahlheit and Huntley will report to Sam Latone, who is co-CEO of the Atlanta-based retail brokerage alongside David Birnbrey.

The promotions end a period of leadership shakeups at the firm, with Nichole Popovics being promoted to president in May after Latone was made co-CEO.

“Having led finance for our property management business and TSCG Investors, I’ve seen firsthand how corporate decisions affect our offices day to day,” Huntley said in a statement. “My focus as CFO is to stay close to the people those decisions serve and to build relationships across all 20 of our offices, so our finance function supports everyone doing the work.”

While Huntley has focused on the firm’s TSCG Investors and TSCG Property Management divisions, he will now manage the finances for the entire firm.

The new appointments are effective Jan. 1, 2027.
