This Dumbo, Brooklyn, office property is about to light up with a new tenant.
L.K. Comstock, a specialty electrical contractor focused on transit rail systems, has signed a 13,566-square-foot lease at 55 Prospect Street in the office and mixed-use campus known as Dumbo Heights, Commercial Observer has learned.
The length of the lease and the asking rent were not disclosed, but the average asking rent for office space in Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighborhood was $53 per square foot as of May, according to The New York Times.
L.K. Comstock will occupy space on the third and eighth floors of 55 Prospect Street, one of several interconnected buildings at Dumbo Heights, which is owned by a joint venture of RFR and Kushner Companies. Other buildings in the campus include 77 Sands Street and 117 Adams Street.
This is a new location for L.K. Comstock, which lists the headquarters for its affiliated RailWorks Corporation at 5 Penn Plaza on its website. Its new spot at 55 Prospect Street will act as a field office for the firm while it works on a nearby infrastructure project.
“We were able to attract this tenant due to our close proximity to the subway lines they will be working on, as well as the turnkey, move-in-ready spaces available at the campus,” ABS Partners Real Estate’s Ben Waller, who represented the landlord alongside Daria Ghasemi and Zoe Snow, said in a statement.
The tenant was represented by Avison Young’s Joe Gervino and Alexis Odgers. A spokesperson for Avison Young did not immediately respond to CO’s request for comment.
The Dumbo Heights campus is a 750,000-square-foot development featuring office space, dining and retail, located between the Manhattan Bridge and Brooklyn Bridge.
Other tenants at the campus include general contractor ETC Companies and creative agency Futerra, which both signed deals there in February.
