Home Goods Company Sakatta Moves to Industry City

Home goods distributor Sakatta Inc. has leased 25,000 square feet of warehouse space at Industry City in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, the complex’s owners announced Monday.

The wholesaler, which specializes in curtains, signed a six-year lease at Building 23 in the 16-building campus. Asking rent at Industry City ranges from $15 to $40 a square foot.

The firm and its 15 employees will relocate from nearby Bush Terminal

Moshe Akiva and Rafael Neiman of Tri State Commercial Realty represented both landlord and tenant in the transaction and didn’t immediately return a request for comment. 

“Industry City has become synonymous with the quintessential creative office hub, and it’s really so much more,” said Kathe Chase, Industry City’s leasing director. “It’s a diverse neighborhood of businesses, including offices, retail, pop-ups, production, and good, old-fashioned warehouse and distribution.” 

Belvedere Capital, Jamestown, and Angelo Gordon & Co. own the 6 million-square-foot industrial campus along the East River waterfront. The complex has attracted a number of new tenants this summer, including St. Mark’s Comics, the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, and car makers Porsche and Volvo
