Skylight will be based in New York City. The firm’s investment strategy couldn’t immediately be gleaned by press time, but sources said it will focus on value-add, development and distressed opportunities in the multifamily and office sectors of the New York City Metro, Washington, D.C., and Florida markets.

Evans previously spent 14 years at Normandy Real Estate Partners, where he most recently was a partner at the firm. When Columbia Property Trust acquired Normandy in January 2020, Evans became an executive vice president at the newly merged company. Seasoned multifamily investors Andrew Miller and Bennat Berger are the owners of Novel Property Ventures.

One source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the industry should “prepare for excellence,” with the Skylight launch.

“These four individuals coming together is basically the equivalent of Voltron forming, given their incredibly diverse skill sets,” he said.

Joseph, Evans, Miller and Berger couldn’t be reached by press time.
