CBRE (CBRE) has boosted its Mid-Atlantic region with the additions of Niel Beggy, Brian McCarthy and Tim Connolly from Avison Young.

The trio will focus on office leasing, representing both landlords and tenants throughout the region, and will be based out of the firm’s Bethesda, Md. office. Beggy and McCarthy will serve as senior vice presidents while Connolly will hold the title of vice president.

The execs previously worked together as a team at Avison Young, where they were responsible for more than 280 lease transactions totaling approximately $315 million across 1.65 million square feet.

“Over our career, we’ve been fortunate to have super loyal clients that we’ve been able to transact with in the market that we love,” Beggy told Commercial Observer. “We’ll continue to focus on agency leasing in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties, coupled with occupier services and commercial sales locally and nationally.”

CBRE has been making a concerted effort to enhance its work in the Bethesda market and greater Montgomery County area, as well as the overall Mid-Atlantic region, over the course of the past year.

“Our initial goals are to continue to provide excellent service to our great clients, and help strengthen the CBRE agency leasing brand within Maryland’s most prominent CBD submarkets – i.e. Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Silver Spring, the Pike corridor to name a few,” Connolly told CO.

“We believe our team, coupled with CBRE’s best in the industry marketing capabilities and best-in-class research locally, will enhance our ability to service our largest and most demanding clients even better,” McCarthy told Commercial Observer. “It provides us with scale that is unmatched locally.”

Beggy noted that because the Bethesda team is multi-generational, with execs between 20- to 50-something, it helps CBRE provide a unique ability to connect, service and most importantly, add value in any type and any sized transaction.

“Further, we each have different perspectives and skillsets that we bring to the table,” he said. “Our clients know that together we’ll be creative, energetic, and unstoppable in the pursuit of their goals. But the best part is, we make it fun along the way.”
