An event and design agency, MAS Events + Design, will move its New York City headquarters to the Dumbo Heights complex in Brooklyn, Commercial Observer has learned.

MAS signed a sublease with marketing agency B-Reel for 10,000 square feet on part of the 12th floor of 77 Sands Street, according to CBRE (CBRE) which represented MAS in the deal. A CBRE spokeswoman would not provide terms of the deal.

The design agency—which also has a Los Angeles location—plans to ditch its current offices at 35 Broadway between Wythe Avenue and Dunham Place in Williamsburg later this month, according to CBRE.

CBRE’s Ben Fastenberg and Alex D’Amario handled the sublease for MAS while Mike Mathias and Sean Hoffman of Savills brokered it for B-Reel. A spokeswoman for Savills declined to comment.

“MAS has had a presence in Brooklyn for several years and, due to some explosive growth in the past couple years, found itself outgrowing its office space in Williamsburg,” Fastenberg said in a statement. “The agency’s new Brooklyn outpost at 77 Sands Street affords the team the space they need now, and also accommodates additional growth in the future.”

B-Reel first signed a 10-year deal for the space in the 190,000-square-foot 77 Sands Street, part of Kushner Companies, LIVWRK and RFR Realty’s Dumbo Heights office complex, in October 2016, as CO previously reported. B-Reel—which also has offices in Los Angeles, Stockholm, London, Barcelona and Berlin—will move its New York City location nearby to 31 Washington Street, said B-Reel’s founder and CEO Anders Wahlquist.

MAS will join other creative firms in the five-building complex—formerly the headquarters for the Jehovah’s Witnesses—including etsy, Frog Design, Wipro Digital and bike share company Jump.
