“With climbing entering mainstream consciousness at an ever-increasing rate, we saw the potential for amazing synergies between the social and active lifestyle Sender One gyms foster, Runway’s eclectic tenant mix and Playa Vista market’s location in the heart of a vibrant, fast-growing population of businesses and families,” Kao told CO.

Stenn Parton, chief retail officer of DJM Capital represented the landlord in the transaction, while Location 3 handled the deal on behalf of the tenant.

“Health and wellness are major lifestyle components of the wonderful people that live, work, and play in Playa Vista. At Runway, and all DJM properties, we’ve worked closely with the community to curate a meaningful roster of tenants which has grown to include several outstanding fitness destinations,” Parton said.  DJM declined to provide further lease details.

Sender One joins other specialized fitness concepts at the 250,035-square-foot center, including Flywheel, Yogaworks and SFK Academy of Dance.

Sender One opened its first gym at 1441 South Village Way in Santa Ana in 2016. A second, near the Los Angeles International Airport at 11220 Hindry Avenue following in 2017.
