Walker & Dunlop Expands Into Investment Sales With New Hire

Walker & Dunlop is expanding its West Coast offerings into investment sales with the addition of a JLL (JLL) capital markets specialist, the firm announced.

As of June 18, Javier Rivera has been brought on as a senior vice president at the commercial real estate financing firm’s L.A. office at 12100 Wilshire Boulevard.

Rivera is responsible for building the public firm’s multifamily sales and finance business, including brokering the sale of high-quality apartment properties in Southern California. Previously, the L.A. office only conducted commercial mortgage activities, according to a company spokeswoman.

Before joining Dunlop & Walker, Rivera was an executive vice president in JLL’s Capital Markets Group.  At JLL starting in 2007, Rivera was responsible for building the firm’s multifamily investment sales and finance business in the region. His recently completed assignments include Angel’s Landing , The Harvey Apartments and UCSB Ocean Walk.

Prior to that, Rivera was the director of acquisitions and a development manager with The Ratkovich Company, an urban property owner and developer in Los Angeles.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., with Rivera’s hire Walker & Dunlop’s investment sales’ footprint now includes 19 states across the nation. Walker & Dunlop generated $28 billion in total transaction volume in 2017, according to firm statistics.
