Longtime Nonprofit Based at 355 Lexington Avenue Re-Ups at Rudin Building

A nonprofit that helps less fortunate with job training, healthcare and community support has renewed its lease with the Rudin family at 355 Lexington Avenue, Commercial Observer has learned.
NADAP, which has been based at the building since 1975, inked a 10-year deal that keeps the entity at the building between East 40th and East 41st Streets into 2027, according to a press release from the landlord. The nonprofit is based on the entire 16,000-square-foot second floor of the 22-story, 250,000-square-foot property.
“NADAP has been a mainstay at 355 Lexington Avenue for more than 40 years, and we’re delighted to extend our relationship for many years to come,” William Rudin, the chief executive officer of Rudin Management Company, the family’s operating arm, said in prepared remarks. “We’re proud to help this important organization continue their mission of providing services that support the health and wellbeing of New York City residents.”
Asking rent in the renewal was not immediately available, but CO previously reported asking rents to be $55 per square foot at the 1959 office building.
Robert Steinman of Rudin Management represented the landlord in-house, while Jason Greenstein of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank represented the tenant.
“We’re proud to continue our vision of healthier individuals productively engaged in vibrant communities and to be partnering with the Rudins in this outstanding location,” John Darin, the CEO of NADAP, said in a statement.
The Rudins have signed a slew of leases at the Midtown East property over the last year. That includes renewing four tenants totaling 41,300 square feet in August 2016, CO reported at the time. Other tenants at the building include Gordon & Silber, TNS Custom Research and Eastern Consolidated.
