The Heskel Group purchased the building at 215 West 40th Street, also known as the Denim Building, for $52.5 million from Elyahu Cohen of Regal Home Collections.
The sale of the office and retail building between Seventh and Eighth Avenues in the Garment District closed on Aug. 27, according to property records released today. The 14-story building has more than 65,000 square feet of space.
Richard Baxter, Inbal Himelblau-Denman and Jason Gold of JLL represented The Heskel Group in the transaction, according to a representative for the brokerage firm.
Tenants in the building include Blue Cast Denim Company, and clothing company Deja Bleu, as well Shadow Boxers bar on the ground floor.
Mr. Cohen purchased the building in 2006 for $25 million, according to city records.
Mr. Cohen was not available for comment. Representatives for The Heskel Group did not immediately return calls for comment on the deal.
