NYU Langone Health System has leased 29,000 square feet at Industry City to house administrative offices to support the integration of NYU Langone Medical Center, based in Manhattan, and NYU Lutheran Medical Center, located in Brooklyn, Commercial Observer has learned.

The medical institution will occupy the 12th floor in Building 10, which has an address of 882 Third Avenue, in a 15-year lease, a NYU Langone spokeswoman said. The first group of employees will move into the space next Wednesday, occupying half of the floor, the spokeswoman noted. Industry City office rents range from $15 to $35 per square foot, an Industry City spokeswoman said.

Earlier this year, NYU Langone became affiliated with Lutheran Medical Center, now known as NYU Lutheran, into a clinically integrated healthcare network, according to a joint press release from April.

Industry City is home to a wide mix of tenants including The Brooklyn Nets, furniture and accessories retailer Design Within Reach and 3-D printing company MakerBot.

In August 2013, a partnership consisting of Belvedere Capital, Jamestown and Angelo Gordon bought a roughly 50 percent stake in the property from longtime owners Cammeby’s International and FBE Limited. The owners are undergoing a $1 billion revitalization of the waterfront property.

Industry City in-house leasing representatives Jeff Fein and Kathe Chase negotiated the deal on behalf of Industry City.

Andrew Kimball, the chief executive officer of Industry City, said in prepared remarks that he was “proud to build upon our partnership with NYU Lutheran, Sunset Park’s other major employer, which is further serving the community in expanding their office and training offerings here at Industry City.”
