Blink Fitness has taken 17,000 square feet in the basement level of SL Green (SLG) Realty Corp.‘s 125 Park Avenue, sources with knowledge of the deal told Commercial Observer. The gym will open by the end of the year.

Equinox Fitness’ discount gym chain is paying $70 per square foot at the 26-story, 572,705-square-foot tower, between East 41st and 42nd Streets, the sources said.

Blink has more than 25 locations in New York City, including one at 240 East 54th Street (soon to open) and a three-floor gym in Bernard and Robert Friedman‘s Lara luxury residential building at 111 Nassau Street in the Financial District, as CO reported last September.

Other tenants in the building include Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, Meister Seelig & Fein and Pandora.

Jeff Roseman, Marc Frankel and Ben Birnbaum of NGKF negotiated on behalf of the fitness chain. SL Green had no broker in the deal. NGKF and SL Green didn’t immediately respond to a request for a comment.
