Makeup mecca Sephora has signed a deal for 11,300 square feet on the ground floor of 112 West 34th Street between Avenue of the Americas and Seventh Avenue, according to the New York Post.
The paper reported that the asking rent at the space, currently home to Foot Locker, was nearly $1,000 per square foot.
Crown Retail Services’ Virginia Pittarelli represented the tenant and Cushman & Wakefield’s Joanne Podell and Ian Lerner represented the landlord, Empire State Realty Trust, The Post reported.
Empire State Realty Trust, Cushman & Wakefield and Crown Retail Services did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Sephora already has a number of locations in Manhattan, including stores at 2164 Broadway, 808 Columbus Avenue, 597 Fifth Avenue, 750 Lexington Avenue, 144 East 86th Street and 10 Columbus Circle. The beauty-mart currently also has a store open close to what will be its newest New York location at 130 West 34th Street.
The property at 112 West 34th Street is a 26-story building that includes 743,369 rentable square feet. According to Empire State Realty Trust’s website, tenants include Macy’s, Aeropostale and the Bridgespan Group.
