New York-based fine jewelry designer and manufacturer Jewels By Star has signed a 15-year, 10,153-square-foot lease for a portion of the 7th floor at ATCO Properties & Management’s 555 Fifth Avenue.
The company, founded in 1979 and known for its handcrafted wedding and anniversary bands, necklaces, bracelets and rings sold exclusively to fine retail jewelers throughout the United States, expects to relocate from its current home at 579 Fifth Avenue in the spring of 2014.
Managing director of ATCO Property Services, Peter Goldich, who represented the landlord, called JB Star a “premier and respected leader of jewelry craftsmanship.”
“JB Star’s passion and dedication to artistic excellence align perfectly with 555 Fifth Avenue’s stylish marble lobby, fashionable Midtown location and close proximity to luxury retail brands,” he said in a prepared statement announcing the deal, noting asking rents of $46.50 per square foot.
The 20-floor LEED Silver boutique office property is located just blocks from Grand Central Terminal and hosts a list of tenants that includes Harris Corporation, CW Financial Services, Valley National, Global Excess Partners, Floyd Advisory, Barnes & Noble and Wichcraft.
Approximately 25,979 square feet of office space in units between 5,000 and 8,000 square feet remains available for lease, including a 9th floor prebuilt space constructed on behalf of ATCO by Essential Design + Build, an ATCO spokesperson confirmed.
In September insurance litigation law firm Nicoletti Gonson Spinner LLP inked a five-year renewal of its 12,500-square-foot lease at the building.
Avi Ben-Ishay, managing director of Norman Bobrow & Co, Inc. represented the tenant.
