“If you’ve got sex appeal, big boobs, long legs… why wouldn’t you use it?”
Barbara Corcoran of The Corcoran Group uttered the words at a recent promotional event for ABC’s “Shark Tank,” where she encouraged the use of sex appeal to earn business, Business Insider reported.
“It’s like asking people who can see to not use their eyes,” she said.
The real estate scion and author of 2003’s “If You Don’t Have Big Breasts, Put Ribbons on Your Pigtails: And Other Lessons I Learned from My Mom,” told the audience that she got her first break through her own sex appeal when, at 23, she ditched a diner job in Fort Lee, New Jersey after a fateful meeting with Ramon Simone, her future boyfriend and business partner who fronted her $1,000.
“I would’ve never gotten the $1,000 to start my business if I wasn’t sexy,” she said.
A business partnership formed, though two years later he announced he would marry Ms. Corcoran’s secretary.
The two split and Ms. Corcoran started The Corcoran Group.
