The urgent care provider CityMD continued its rapid expansion by signing a 7,000-square-foot lease at 2398 Broadway on the Upper West Side.

The new location, on Broadway at West 88th Street, will be CityMD’s eighth Manhattan location and second on the Upper West Side. Over the next year, the company expects to add 15 outposts throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and Westchester County.

Newmark Grubb Knight Frank directly brokered the deal with landlord BLDG Management. Asking rent was $250 per square foot. The tenant recently signed for its first outer borough location, at 4712 Fourth Avenue in Bay Ridge.

“Because it’s a convenient and volume based business, these spaces need to be visible and comfortable for these patients to come in and get care,” NGKF retail managing director Benjamin Birnbaum told Crain’s. “It’s a very retail-based model.”

“Unlike other retailers, they have information on where their patients are coming from. The company can deduce where there is a need based on where patients live.”
