Ziel Feldman, founder and managing principal of HFZ Capital Group announced last week they had hired Laurie Golub as a General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer. Ms. Golub has over 20 years of experience in handling complex real estate and corporate transactions.
“Laurie’s extensive legal background, overall real estate development experience and outstanding relationships with institutional investors will be invaluable as we move ahead on a number of new and exciting development projects in both New York City and elsewhere,” Feldman said.
With an expertise in a broad range of real estate disciplines including underwriting analytics, structured finance, investment, development and asset management, HFZ has built a name on breadth of talent and acquiring talent.
Ms. Golub played a major role in restructuring the debt at Africa Israel USA related to the company’s largest assets, including overseeing all retail leasing at the former New York Times headquarters. However prior to joining AFI USA, Ms. Golub served as Associate General Counsel to Forest City Ratner Companies where she played a critical role in all pre-development activities of the $5 billion Atlantic Yards and Brooklyn Arena redevelopment project. Ms. Golub was also the Senior Counsel to Morrison Cohen Singer & Weinstein, where she represented clients on a broad range of real estate and corporate transactions.
