You’ll Find ‘T-Shirts on Steroids’ at 561 Seventh

While it’s long seemed that Spanx had an iron hold on the nation’s girths, one of its challengers is spilling over into some bigger space. Times Three Clothier, the company behind Yummie Tummie, is expanding into an additional 1,000 square feet at 561 Seventh Avenue, near Times Square.
Curvaceous celeb stylist Heather Thomson launched the tummy-taming line, after also helping to launch the clothing lines of P-Diddy, Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé. “Think of Yummie Tummie as a tank top or T-shirt on steroids,” says Ms. Thomson on her Web site. “Bras and panties have long been the yin and yang of undergarments, Yummie Tummie is the new third essential.”
The company now occupies 5,200 square feet of the building, or the entire 12th floor and part of the seventh floor. The asking rent was $40 a square foot, according to Crain’s, which first had news of the deal. Times Three Clothier moved to the building at the corner of West 40th Street three years ago.
Scott Galin of Handler Real Estate Services represented the landlord, Handro Management Group. Jonathan Schindler of Cassidy Turley represented the tenant.
