Charles Cohen hasn’t been showing his love for innovative design of late, but the developer can still appreciate a tenant with aesthetic flair.

Interior design firm the Switzer Group has leased the entire 14,500-square-foot seventh floor at 3 East 54th Street for its new corporate headquarters. While Mr. Cohen has publicly sparred with tenants over allegedly unauthorized renovations at 1400 Broadway and 112 West 34th Street, all has been quiet in his unassuming 20-story midtown tower.

Founded in 1975, the Switzer Group has designed office spaces for MasterCard, TimeWarner, IBM and UNICEF. The company plans to relocate from its headquarters at 535 Fifth Avenue sometime in the spring. We won’t ask whether it plans to renovate the new space.

Cushman & Wakefield‘s Bruce Mosler, Arthur Mirante and David Glassman, along with David Nevins of Cohen Brothers Realty Corporation, represented the owner in the 10-year deal. Stuart Romanoff of Cushman & Wakefield represented the tenant.
