1290sixth 0 Egads! More Lease Backslapping Among Lawyers It’s bonus season for legal eagles and word is they’re faring a lot better than the I-bankers. And so while other industries struggle, another law firm moves up in the world.

Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney P.C. will relocate from the outer reaches of respectability, at 620 Eighth Avenue, to some sophisticated Sixth Avenue space. The Pittsburgh-based firm is subleasing 26,122 square feet, or the whole 30th floor of 1290 Avenue of the Americas, from Bryan Cave, a national law firm with its second-largest office in New York City.

They’ll move in right around the time they’re done handing out bonuses, and their term extends until March 2019.

“They took advantage of moving to an existing law firm installation, which saved them a lot of money,” said Frederick Kane Mare, of The Vortex Group, who repped the subtenant. The sublandlord was repped by Lewis Miller, Paul Milunec, Peter Turchin and Gregg Rothkin of CB Richard Ellis. The asking rent is reportedly around $60 a square foot.

Recently, Cushman & Wakefield’s Bruce Mosler was handed the leasing assignment for the building, after Alex Chudnoff and Paul Glickman departed for Jones Lang LaSalle. C&W also has its headquarters in the 2 million-square-foot building, which Vornado bought in 2007 for $1 billion from Donald Trump’s erstwhile Hong Kong partner, Hudson Waterfront Associates.
