812 Broadway

There’s barely anything hipper than a vintage and limited-edition sneaker consignment store. Until, of course, that store scores itself an East Village location.

Flight Club has signed a 20-year lease for 8,600 square feet at 812 Broadway, across from the Strand and steps from N.Y.U. It will consolidate two smaller downtown locations in Nolita and the Civic Center, near City Hall.

Flight Club caters to “sneakerheads,” devoted collectors who seem not to care that some of the shoes may be “unsuitable for wear.” The store also features a striking Rubik’s-cube-like design, with stark black shelves filled with brightly colored runners.

“Flight Club is the ultimate destination for hard-to-find sneakers and streetwear in the city,” said Peter Levitan, of Sierra Realty Corporation, who represented the tenant. The store, which is three times the size of their average location, “will be a tremendous force in the urban fashion world,” he added.

The landlord, Solil Management, represented itself.

The asking rent was $170 per square foot, according to Mr. Levitan.
