Jordyn Comras, 29
Director at Newmark
Even in her off time, Jordyn Comras canvasses.
Any time she travels to a new place, she rents a bike and rides around the neighborhood to get the lay of the land. That’s something she picked up from — and still does with — her father, Michael Comras, a retail broker in Miami and the owner of the Comras Company
“Creating a neighborhood is something that I kind of grew up with, and it’s exciting,” Comras said.
And the younger Comras has already started to do that in New York City. She and her team worked to lease retail space at Brookfield Properties’ Manhattan West, where they have signed deals with Peachy, Rothmans, Montefiore, Starbucks, Peloton, Spectrum and Reset by Therabody.
“It’s been a three-year labor of love because it was an unproven market because Hudson Yards wasn’t open,” Comras said. “But now the restaurants are doing extremely well. I’m really proud of how it came out.”
Aside from making her mark on Hudson Yards, Comras also put a stamp on Madison Avenue, completing the lease-up of 725 Madison Avenue with brands Ippolita, Paul Morelli, Maison Ullens and Anne Fontaine.
And she doesn’t just do retail deals. She’s worked with Pace University on its recent deals around the city and represented Taconic Partners and Nuveen Real Estate at 817 Broadway, inking 110,000 square feet to companies including Netflix and Union Square Ventures.
Comras got the retail bug interning at Kering and Vornado Realty Trust while at New York University. After graduating in 2015, she landed a job at RKF and moved over to Newmark in 2018 after it bought out the company.
The Flatiron resident also is a member of the iMentor program, where she mentored an 11th grade student and helped her get into Baruch College. She also recently spoke at a Project Destined panel at Pace about getting a foothold in the male-dominated real estate industry.
On top of all that, Comras got married in September. —N.R.
