President of Savills’ L.A. region; vice chairman and branch manager; vice chairman; executive managing director; executive vice president at Savills
Savills has made significant and consistent strides in Southern California over the past half-decade, each year growing its market share and prominence.
Most recently, Savills elbowed its way into what is set to be perhaps the most definitive story of the year in L.A. commercial real estate after the county hired it to acquire the beleaguered Gas Company Tower in Downtown L.A. for $215 million. The 1.4 million-square-foot building has been a symbol of distress in the office market since the pandemic, and carries political consequences with the city lobbying for a lucrative lease of its own.
Josh Gorin has been with Savills for 25 years, and now leads its office efforts in Greater L.A. He has led negotiations on more than 30 million square feet of transactions, and he develops real estate strategies in the region for companies such as Apple, Sony, Goldman Sachs, Activision, Comcast, Citi, Capitol Records, Berkshire Hathaway and Walmart.
Mike Catalano has been with Savills for more than 30 years. If he’s not working with Gorin on Sony’s lease on Wilshire Boulevard, he can be found negotiating anything from a fresh law firm headquarters in Century City to the newest warehouse development at the landmark and massive Tejon Ranch Commerce Center.
Luke Troedson joined the firm in 2010, and he leads Savills’ technology practice group for Southern California. Troedson primarily serves companies in technology, e-commerce, gaming, media and advertising. That versatility in tenant range also has him working on anything from headquarters office leases to distribution hubs and shopping centers.
Bart Pucci is also an industrial and office specialist. Pucci has been in commercial real estate for 35 years, and with Savills in L.A. for 13 years. He’s worked with Lucky Brand, Restoration Hardware, the University of Southern California, Bay Cities Container, Sugar Foods, AMPAM, Geo Plastics and TwinMed.
Laura Whelan is in charge of Savills Project Management Group in Los Angeles. Whelan has been with the firm since 2007, and was promoted to corporate managing director from managing director in 2015, and to executive vice president early last year. She directs project and construction management for firms in health care, biotech, technology, advertising, media and information.
