The New York City Economic Development Corporation’s (EDC) Bridget Chansakul has been arranging leases and managing assets within the agency’s portfolio since 2024, creating viable revenue streams for the government.

During COVID, EDC was well positioned to gain from the distribution boom during that time, something that Chansakul continues to build on.

“I think [EDC] did pretty well while everyone else was struggling and now we’re seeing, especially with the advent of our new campus-based terminal, a rise of small design firms and definitely more startup businesses,” Chansakul said, referring to the Brooklyn Army Terminal. “I think that with bringing online new square footage and bringing online a climate innovation hub, we’re seeing a lot of tech startups, climate-focused startups.”

Since the pandemic, Chansakul has leased space at Brooklyn Army Terminal, MADE Bush Terminal and other city-owned developments. But she hasn’t always worked in the public sector, and, in fact, she hasn’t always worked in real estate.

Chansakul spent some time as a curatorial assistant for the American Federation of Arts before deciding that commercial real estate was more her style. She went to work in leasing for owner AmTrustRE for almost four years starting in June 2020.

Then, in 2024, she started as a leasing associate for EDC and has moved up the rung twice to her current role as assistant vice president leading the Sunset Park leasing team, which covers the Brooklyn Army and MADE Bush terminals.

“At Brooklyn Army Terminal, the whole campus is over 4 million square feet and we’re bringing online the final segment — so, over 250,000 square feet,” Chansakul said. “Part of it is really just new industrial space but within the existing campus. And, then, at MADE Bush Terminal, we opened the first building on that campus, Building A, at the end of 2025.”

Some notable leases Chansakul worked on at these developments was for Pelle, a lighting design studio that took 11,960 square feet at MADE Bush Terminal this past May, and audiovisual design and installation firm Audible Difference, which took 47,106 square feet at Brooklyn Army Terminal in November 2025.
