Lessen’s platform connecting commercial and residential property managers to professional services nationwide continued its AI-powered evolution this year.
Last October, Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Lessen unveiled Aiden, its AI suite trained on 40 million work orders and more than two decades of operations data. The tool, designed to end fragmented maintenance processes, has already helped some of Lessen’s largest customers process more than 1,000 work orders each month and reduced maintenance costs by 38 percent per work order.
“That’s the kind of outcome that tells us we’re solving a real problem and delivering tangible value for our customers,” McKee said in an email.
Partnerships that power Lessen’s own platform have also evolved. A recent collaboration with restoration and emergency services provider Paul Davis Restoration, announced in August, began the process of onboarding dozens of Paul Davis franchises to Lessen’s platform. The partnership adds more firepower to the platform’s 34,000-plus network of vetted service providers that complete more than 3 million work orders each year.
In May, Lessen launched its platform integration with HappyCo, an intelligence platform for multifamily operators. Combining HappyCo’s operations and inspections workflows with Lessen’s service network gave property teams a one-stop shop to initiate, manage and track maintenance jobs, further cutting down clients’ work.
“Through this integration, we’ve learned that technology is most valuable when it gives property teams immediate insight into what’s happening with maintenance without requiring them to change the way they operate,” McKee said.
Scaling up is Lessen’s bread and butter. The tech unicorn made perhaps its biggest splash in 2023, when its record-setting acquisition of SMS Assist valued the merged companies at more than $2 billion. Amid Lessen’s continued, rapid expansion, McKee said practical, measurable outcomes remain the company’s guide. Its strategy, too, stays the same: to turn the fractured workflows of property services into a proactive, data-informed business.
