Maxine Rosen, 26
Assistant director at Savills
When Maxine Rosen returned to New York City after a post-college stint as a tenant adviser for Bespoke Commercial Real Estate in Chicago, a position opened on Gabe Marans’s brokerage team at Savills, and she took it on the spot, she said.
“Ever since, we have just been an absolute power duo,” Rosen said.
She’s been in the role for close to two years now and has carved out a niche working with clients in the technology and venture capital sectors in New York’s startup ecosystem.
“What’s great about my role is that I really get to touch every piece of the business,” Rosen said. “So that’s everything from initial relationship development, to deal negotiation, to helping interview architects. There isn’t really a part of the process that I don’t touch.”
Rosen was part of the team that arranged a 93,000-square-foot lease for customer engagement platform Braze’s new headquarters at 63 Madison Avenue. Rosen has worked with the company since their early days in a coworking space, and she said it was particularly special to see their new headquarters come to life.
“I was involved in that process on everything from site selection to labor analytics to actual deal negotiation,” Rosen said.
In addition to her regular duties at Savills, Rosen works with VC Unleashed, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing the presence of historically underrepresented groups at startups and venture capital firms. She has co-hosted events with Techstars, an accelerator in New York, and is focused on helping founders think about how to increase the demographic diversity on their teams.
“For me, a lot of my work is within the tech sector,” she said, “and so I keep my extracurriculars kind of in the same space.”
