Anthony Pasquarella, 25
Associate in investment sales at TerraCRG
Anthony Pasquarella’s real estate career began on the residential side. He obtained his real estate license with some friends during sophomore year at SUNY Oswego, more or less on a whim, and got his feet wet with two- to four-family deals in upstate New York.
Just a few years later, the Schenectady, N.Y., native would find himself on a team marketing more than $200 million worth of industrial assets in Brooklyn.
“It’s kind of crazy that now I’m working on huge development sites in Brooklyn — I think that’s unbelievable,” Pasquarella said. “If someone told me a couple years ago that that’s how it would turn out, I would tell them they’re crazy.”
Yet Pasquarella said his transition from residential to commercial still felt like a natural progression. TerraCRG focuses exclusively on the Brooklyn market, to which Pasquarella has a personal connection. His uncle lived in Brooklyn, and visiting him opened Pasquarella’s eyes to New York City and to what was possible in his career. Part of why Pasquarella gravitated to TerraCRG was the firm’s unconditional love for the borough, he said.
One of the projects Pasquarella is most excited about at the moment is a commercial site in the Bay Ridge neighborhood, with more than 38,000 gross buildable square feet. He said the property has the potential to have a major positive impact on the local community.
Apart from his day job, Pasquarella also regularly writes about real estate development and housing policy for his personal blog on Substack. Finding the next subject to blog about can sometimes be challenging, he said, but writing is the best way to get his thoughts down on paper, while also providing an avenue to stay in touch with his network. It’s also something Pasquarella hopes to continue doing as his career progresses.
“As I get higher and higher in this industry, I can look back and be proud that this is everything I believed in, this is everything I accomplished, and, since it’s out there online, other people can do the same,” he said.
