A new Day has arrived at LaSalle Investment Management.
Marcus Day has left his lofty perch at Brookfield Asset Management for a new gig in real estate investment as head of LaSalle Global Solutions, reporting directly to CEO Brad Gries. Day moved to LaSalle on Tuesday and will officially take the reins on Jan. 1, 2027, according to LaSalle.
As head of LaSalle’s $10 billion private indirect investment platform, Day will lead strategies for LaSalle’s multimanager, fund of funds, joint venture and co-investment platforms.
“What makes this opportunity truly compelling for both LaSalle and our investors is the power of the broader LaSalle and JLL platforms,” Day said in a statement. “In indirect investing, having access to JLL and LaSalle’s global research capabilities, localized market intelligence and massive transaction flow creates a distinct information advantage. This platform strength allows us to underwrite risk more effectively and source unique opportunities globally. The market opportunity ahead in indirect investing and liquidity solutions is a significant one.”
Since 2020, Day has worked as co-head of real estate secondaries platform at Brookfield. Prior to that, he was head of acquisitions and real estate secondaries for Partners Group for four years.
Day began his career as a senior associate managing real estate acquisitions, asset management and development for Winten Property Group in 2006.
“Marcus helped build and scale a global investment platform, has deep sponsor and investor relationships, and has led investing across the Americas and Asia Pacific,” Gries said in a statement. “He brings the experience LaSalle Global Solutions needs and will work with our teams to serve our clients and grow the business, fully leveraging the deep market intelligence and global footprint of both the LaSalle and JLL networks.”
