European flexible workspace operator InfinitSpace is entering the U.S. market with a 32,000-square-foot location in Downtown Los Angeles, its first step in a plan to open 30 locations nationwide in the next two years.
The company announced Tuesday that it has entered into a long-term management partnership at the historic Desmond’s Building at 612 South Broadway. The new coworking spot, operating under infinitSpace’s Beyond brand, is scheduled to open Nov. 2.
The workspace will occupy the second through fifth floors of the building, accommodating approximately 400 memberships with private offices, shared workspaces, meeting rooms and lounges. It will also feature a rooftop event space. An option for the sixth floor could add another 8,500 square feet, for about 40,500 square feet total.
Unlike traditional coworking operators that lease space directly from landlords, InfinitSpace uses an asset-light management model in which property owners retain ownership and long-term control of their buildings. The company handles workspace operations, sales, marketing and technology, including an artificial intelligence platform designed to automate administrative tasks.
The Los Angeles opening will mark InfinitSpace’s 15th location worldwide. The company serves more than 8,000 members on three continents, and expects to reach approximately 10,000 members by year’s end. Its initial U.S. expansion will focus on Los Angeles, San Francisco, Austin, Seattle and New York.
“Property owners are looking for ways to make their buildings more productive and responsive to how companies use space, while businesses want flexibility without compromising the quality of their workplace,” InfinitSpace CEO and co-founder Wybo Wijnbergen said in a statement. “Our partnership model and technology were built to address both needs.”
The Desmond’s Building opened in 1924 in Downtown L.A.’s Broadway Theatre District as the flagship store of clothing retailer Desmond’s. An entity run by Jonathan Kim acquired the building in 2024 for $16.1 million, records show.
