Cushman & Wakefield’s debt and leasing businesses had a particularly good run in Southern California over the past year-plus.

That puts the firm’s equity, debt and structured finance unit led by Rob Rubano in Los Angeles on pace for a big 2026 after achieving a robust total transaction volume of around $21 billion in 2025. C&W has advised on a number of large portfolio loans, particularly in industrial real estate at large and in data centers specifically, and has also been very active on the multifamily front.

“We’re up significantly year-over-year, and the pipeline is very strong,” Rubano said. “The credit markets are liquid, so it will be a strong finish through the end of the year.”

On the leasing front, C&W brokered a 24,416-square-foot lease with law firm Wilson Eisner in May 2026 at Silverstein Properties’ U.S. Bank Tower in Downtown Los Angeles in a deal representing the tenant that marked a relocation for the company from nearby City National Plaza.

The Wilson Eisner lease was just one example of some notable law firm leases C&W executed in the L.A. area in a sign of progress for the region’s market, according to Luke Raimondo.

“Finding a path that works for tenants in this market requires creativity, so we’ve been really focused on making sure we’re meeting the owners where they are on behalf of the tenants,” Raimondo said.

C&W has also advised landlord JMB in the lease-up of its new 37-story building at 1950 Avenue of the Stars slated to open this fall. Eric Olofson, who brokered a 400,000-square-foot lease at the office property in 2022, said the project is on track to be 100 percent pre-leased before it opens, reflecting the strength of the Century City office market where C&W has been active.

“I think Century City is, without question, the hottest market in Southern California and one of the hottest in the entire country,” Olofson said.
