Florida-grown startup ShipMonk has inked a 113,000-square-foot lease at Bridge Point 595 in Davie, according to landlord Bridge Industrial

The 677,314-square-foot industrial park holds three buildings, of which ShipMonk will lease one. Situated at 5600 Reese Road, the complex sits between the intersection of Interstate 595 and the Florida Turnpike.

A Bridge Industrial representative declined to divulge the lease’s length and the complex’s asking rent. Newmark (NMRK)’s Mitchell Millowitz represented the tenant, while Joseph Byrnes, Keith Graves and John Forman of Berger Commercial Realty represented the landlord.

Launched out of Florida Atlantic University and now headquartered in nearby Fort Lauderdale, ShipMonk offers shipping and logistics services to small and medium-sized businesses.

“ShipMonk was founded to alleviate the burden of supply chain management and allow brand owners to focus on the magic of their front-end customer experience,” said company founder and CEO Jan Bednar.

The logistics company expanded fast as consumers stayed home and opted to shop online during the pandemic. It raised $290 million to scale operations, the company announced in December 2020. In fact, ShipMonk signed this new lease to house the overflow from its Fort Lauderdale facility.

Landlord Bridge Industrial is making other moves in South Florida. This week, the real estate investment firm specializing in operating industrial properties sold a warehouse 20 miles south in Miramar for $71.55 million.

Based in Chicago, Bridge Industrial has acquired 16 industrial properties, totaling 500 acres, and has delivered approximately 7 million square feet of industrial throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties space since 2012, according to the company.
