Baby food startup ByHeart will leave its Midtown digs for 131 Varick Street in SoHo.

ByHeart signed a five-year lease for 8,263 square feet for the penthouse of the 11-story building between Dominick and Spring streets, according to landlord Edison Properties. A spokesperson for Edison declined to provide the asking rent.

The startup was founded in 2016, with the aim to create healthier baby foods and formulas, and raised $70 million in a Series A round in April 2020. It’s currently located at 689 Fifth Avenue and plans to move into its new digs in June.

“ByHeart is a great addition to our versatile building at 131 Varick Street, where they’ll enjoy access to a private roof deck for coveted outdoor space and flexible work options,” Edison Properties’ Lenny Lazzarino said in a statement.

Edison handled the deal in-house, while ByHeart was represented by Rob Kluge of Current Real Estate Advisors

“As companies figure out the most sensible way to return to the office, this property provides the perfect environment to nurture and cultivate ByHeart employees, attract new ones, and host our partners and vendors in a comfortable and safe space,” Kluge said in a statement.

Other tenants in 131 Varick include flex office space provider WorkSpace Offices and Manhattan Mini Storage.
