Washington, D.C.-based developer Madison Marquette has hired former Newmark (NMRK) Knight Frank executive Fernando Vazquez as a senior vice president to help expand the firm’s services platform.

In his new role, Vazquez will be developing “go-to-market strategies for, and provide guidance to, the entire asset services platform,” Drew Genova, the chief asset services officer at Madison Marquette, told Commercial Observer. He’ll work on national and regional leasing and management projects “with a goal towards alignment of service delivery and execution, tailored to achieve client goals and focus on their business priorities,” Genova said.

With over 17 years of experience, Vazquez has advised on strategy implementation projects for firms such as JP Morgan, NY Life Insurance, Clarion, USAA and Slate, according to a Madison Marquette spokeswoman.

Most recently, he served as a senior managing director of portfolio strategy for Newmark, and has also held positions at CBRE (CBRE) and Cushman & Wakefield (CWK). “He began his career as a research analyst at C&W, and has built a career on successfully targeting prospects by using financial data to assess and add value to client real estate assets,” according to a company statement.

Vazquez told CO that he transitioned to Madison Marquette in order to “work with an industry leader I admired and respected” while being part of a “growing client-centric platform in my core background of asset services.” He said he is looking forward to “pursuing the company’s vision to enhance its full-service platform across the country.”

Vazquez will work out of the firm’s Dallas office in collaboration with Genova.
