Modern Mediterranean restaurant Agora is opening a 4,000-square-foot eatery at 7911 Westpark Drive in Tysons Corner, Va., in June, according to a press release from the restaurant.

Agora has become a staple in Washington, D.C.’s Dupont Circle neighborhood since opening nearly a decade ago. Its second location in Tysons Corner will offer dinner and late-night menus with a variety of beer, wine and cocktails upon opening, per the release, with lunch and brunch service coming later this year. New menu items will include Mediterranean offerings such as kibbeh nayeh, grilled octopus and braised short ribs. The space will feature a mezzanine level and 12-seat chef’s bar overlooking the kitchen that will house an authentic charcoal grill.

Located on the ground floor of the Nouvelle building in Tysons Corner, the space was designed by Urbane Architects and Sorrell Design who “infused the new Agora with Turkish decor and flair, with rich red and brown hues and ornate touches like intricate basket weave and kaleidoscopic door inlays,” according to the release, which notes that all of the millwork came from Turkey.

“We are excited to serve up a truly Mediterranean experience at Agora and are thrilled to be bringing our very best to this vibrant corner of northern Virginia,” Chef Ghassan Jarrouj, who will helm the kitchen at the Tysons location, said in a prepared statement.

Agora signed the lease with landlord Greystar in 2017 for 10 years with the option to extend by five years, according to an Agora spokesman, who would not disclose the asking rent. Agora was represented in the deal by Verity Commercial. It’s unclear if Greystar was represented by a broker.
