Synetic Theater Signs Lease Extension in National Landing, Va.

Synetic Theater has extended its lease at 1800 South Bell Street in National Landing, Va., according to a press release from building owner JBG Smith.

The cultural center has occupied its 12,000-square-foot space since 2010. The Synetic Theater Signs Lease Extension in National Landing, Va.new lease extends its lease through 2022, per the release. A JBG spokeswoman would not disclose the asking rent.

“As we continue to captivate audiences from our long-time home at 1800 South Bell Street, our hope is to be a source of enjoyment to both current residents and those who will be joining National Landing [area],” Paata Tsikurishvili, the founding artistic director at Synetic Theater, said in a prepared statement.

Amazon (AMZN) is slated to occupy 191,000 square feet of space at 1800 South Bell Street as part of its move to the area, according to a JBG Smith investor document.

“A thriving arts scene is a vital component of any successful mixed-use community,” Andrew VanHorn, an executive vice president at JBG Smith, said in prepared remarks. “Synetic Theater has been one of National Landing’s leading cultural organizations for nearly a decade, and this agreement ensures that the theater’s work will continue to enrich and inspire the community for years to come.”

There were no brokers involved in the deal.
