Inked, a tattoo lifestyle digital media company, is opening its first-ever retail location in Soho where it will host famous tattoo artists for residencies on a rotating basis, Commercial Observer has learned.

The new 3,155-square-foot ground-floor shop at 285 Lafayette Street will have a photo studio in the back as well as sell artwork and merchandise, according to the brokers for Inked, which is a division of Quadra Media. The space will also include Inked’s offices.

Lee & Associates NYC’s Dennis Someck, Justin Myers, Zachary Steinberg and Aidan Velle represented Inked in the eight-year deal. Upon opening the store in April, Inked will give up its 2,500-square-foot office space at 12 West 27th Street, the brokers noted. The asking rent at 285 Lafayette Street was $250 per square foot.

“With contemporaries such as GQ and Vanity Fair, the team at Inked magazine wanted a space in the center of Soho where they could be near other innovative retailers, the offices of cutting-edge companies and most importantly their client base,” Someck said in a prepared statement.

The Dartmouth Company‘s Joe Mastromonaco and Fritz Kemerling represented the landlords, Ashkenazy Acquisition Corporation and Centurion Realty, in the deal. He didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
