Finance firm TD Ameritrade is moving up along Avenue of the Americas. Exactly one building up.

The financial planner has signed a 5,227-square-foot retail deal with the Durst Organization to relocate to 1155 Avenue of the Americas, according to a press release from the landlord. The 10-year lease puts TD Ameritrade on the ground floor of the 790,000-square-foot tower between West 44th and West 45th Streets. Asking rent in the transaction was $750 per square foot, according to a Durst spokesman.

TD Ameritrade won’t move into its new space until 2018, because 1155 Avenue of the Americas is undergoing a $110 million overhaul. Renovations to the 32-year-old tower, which were announced earlier this month, include a new lobby outfitted with sustainable materials as well as energy efficiency measures throughout the structure.

The tenant won’t have far to move: it currently occupies a ground-floor spot at Durst’s 1133 Avenue of the Americas. The firm has been based in 2,500 square feet there since January 2007, according to CoStar Group. Durst is currently marketing TD Ameritrade’s space at 1133 Avenue of the Americas.

In the new lease at 1155 Avenue of the Americas, TD Ameritrade was represented by Annette Healey of CBRE, while Tom Bow and Ashley Gee represented Durst in-house. Healey declined to comment via a spokeswoman.

“We are pleased to continue our long-term relationship with TD Ameritrade and welcome them as our first retail tenant since beginning our renovation program at 1155 Avenue of the Americas,” Durst President Jonathan “Jody” Durst said in prepared remarks.
