Steve Collins has been appointed head of capital advisors at JLL. In this newly-created role, Mr. Collins will be responsible for leading the capital advisors team, with a focus on expanding the firm’s reach with global investors.

“Steve has played a pivotal role helping us grow our capital markets platform here in the Americas,” Jay Koster, JLL’s group head for capital markets (Americas) and investor services, said in prepared remarks. “His passion for pursuing business and building relationships will be instrumental as we seek to expand our reach as well as our businesses in Canada and Latin America.”

Mr. Collins is currently president of capital markets—a role that will now be assumed by Jonathan Geanakos. Mr. Geanakos will be responsible for leading the growth of JLL’s investment sales and finance functions in the Americas. He will also assume the leadership of the office product specialty, consistent with the recent appointments of Craig Meyer to lead the industrial product specialty, Naveen Jaggi to lead the retail product business and David Williams to lead the overall multifamily platform.

“Jon’s drive, energy and experience complements our existing leadership team,” said Mr. Koster. “His broad expertise across acquisitions, asset management, dispositions, finance and investment banking will be critical in helping shape our capital markets strategy and informing our interactions with clients.”

Mr. Geanakos brings more than 30 years of institutional commercial real estate experience to the firm and comes to JLL from Cabot Street Capital Partners, where he was chief executive officer and co-founder.
