Online business publication Quartz is moving its headquarters to 675 Avenue of the Americas—its third location since launching in 2012.
The company, which is a subsidiary of Atlantic Media, signed a five-year sublease for space in the six-story building between West 21st and West 22nd Streets, as Quartz revealed in a blog post on Tuesday. The 25,644-square-foot office on a portion of the fourth floor was signed with sublandlord Weight Watchers International and had an asking rent of $67 per square foot, according to The Real Deal.
A spokeswoman for Quartz did not provide comment or further details about the terms of the lease when contacted by Commercial Observer.
Quartz is moving from 233 Park Avenue South between East 18th and East 19th Streets in the Union Square area, which was its second home. It’s first location was at 73 Spring Street in Soho. Quartz plans to move into 675 Avenue of the Americas in the Spring, the spokeswoman said.
Savills Studley represented Weight Watchers, while Newmark Grubb Knight Frank handled negotiations for Quartz, a source told CO. Representatives for both companies did not return requests for comments about the deal.
Quartz won’t be the only media tenant at the building when it moves in. The company is joining Patch Media at the 237,000-square-foot property. Other tenants in the building are Trader Joe’s and the Gap.
