Avison Young Taps John Bralower as a New Principal

Avison Young Principal and President of its New York office Mitti Liebersohn has named industry veteran John Bralower as a principal in its New York office where he will focus on expanding the company’s capital markets and hospitality platforms locally and around the world, Commercial Observer Finance has learned.

Mr. Bralower most recently served as president of the hospitality practice at The Carlton Group and managing director of Carlton Advisory Services.

“With several decades of experience, John Bralower has distinguished himself across the industry with his deep understanding of the capital markets arena and his strong leadership capabilities,” Mr. Liebersohn said in a statement.

Mr. Bralower has also served as president/shareholder and management committee member of Sonnenblick-Goldman Co. and managing director/shareholder and co-head of Houlihan Lokey.

Mr. Bralower has been involved in more than $40 billion in individual asset, portfolio and entity-level transactions, according to Avison Young. He most notably completed the $750 million capitalization of Manhattan House, at 200 East 66th Street, one of the largest single-building residential acquisitions in the history of the country.

He has also been involved in numerous other high profile sales, joint ventures, advisory and financing deals, including the Savoy Hotel Group in London, the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco and the Compagnia Italiana Grandi Alberghi, which includes hotels in Venice, Rome and Paris.
