Newmark (NMRK) Grubb Knight Frank has added seven experienced retail brokers from prominent brokerages to its ranks over the past two months, Commercial Observer has learned.

Veteran dealmakers Thomas Citron of Cushman & Wakefield, Matthew Krell of CBRE (CBRE) and Howard Gilbert of RKF headline the migration to NGKF as the firm continues its global growth following its 2011 purchase by BGC Partners.

“We’re very excited to have additional top talent added to the Newmark platform in New York and we look forward to their success here,” said Neal Golden, an NGKF vice chairman. “It’s just a reflection of the continued success of NGKF and Newmark retail.”

Mr. Citron, who is now an executive managing director with NGKF, represented H&M in leases for 42,500 square feet at 4 Times Square, 57,000 square feet at 589 Fifth Avenue, and a 63,000-square-foot flagship store at Herald Center over the past two years. He’s also inked agreements for Jamestown Properties, Alchemy Properties and Fisher Development Associates.

Mr. Krell, now a senior managing director with the firm, has brokered deals on behalf of landlords like the Durst Organization, Empire State Realty Trust and the Olnick Organization and tenants like Patagonia, Fossil and Le Pain Quotidien.

And Mr. Gilbert, also now a senior managing director at NGKF, has counted both landlords like Extell Development Company, Tishman Speyer Properties and Vornado Realty Trust and tenants such as Forever 21, Bank of America and Urban Outfitters as clients.

The firm with 330 offices with 12,000 employees on six continents has also welcomed Joseph Colista of Massey Knakal Realty Services, Adam Weinblatt of Zelnick & Company, Harrison Abramowitz of RKF and Noah Birnbaum of C&W, company officials said.
