Samsung, the South Korean corporation best known for its electronics, has signed a lease for 15,000 square feet of space at 123 West 18th Street.
First reported by the New York Post, Samsung will occupy the seventh floor of the building, located in the heart of Chelsea.
Avison Young’s Michael Leff and David Cohen represented media software company The Boxee Group, a company Samsung acquired last July. Landlord Wasserstein Enterprises was represented by ABS Partners’ Andy Udis.
The Post noted that the asking rent was $58 per square foot.
Last July, Commercial Observer reported that Samsung leased the entire building at 837 Washington Street in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District.
